Traditions KILLING you?

It's that time of year where traditions set by the food industry, cultural perspectives, and social media platforms lead many people to abandon their health and fitness goals which causes them to take HUGE steps back on their progress towards healthy boundaries and habits.

Eating excess amounts of processed foods over a couple days can negatively affect the control centers of the brain. This causes the leptin receptors in the hypothalamus to turn down the volume. Leptin is the hormone that travels to our brain and makes us feel satisfied once we've eaten a sufficient amount of food. Leptin resistance is like insulin resistance, where you no longer respond to the normal levels of the hormone.

This is one of the reasons why people find it so incredibly difficult (feels impossible) to get back on track especially in-between the holidays.

In 3 months from now, you will thank yourself for not sabotaging your goals over holidays that actually has nothing to do with chocolate or candy(unlike Halloween) but where we see more hidden sugar and HUGE portions! Treat yourself differently this season. Tis the season to be THANKFUL, to celebrate the Birth of Jesus, so take the initiative to set new traditions that are LIFE giving and allign with your goals not against them.

Many times people will assume that I personally have it "all figured out". And the TRUTH is I do NOT...not by a long shot!

But since 2012 I have had the unique blessing of not only learning from my own personal journey of physical health, spiritual maturing, and boundary establishing but I have also walked and still walking with hundreds of ladies who were and still are on a similar journey.

I pray this encourages you to know you are NOT alone and that you have PERMISSION to begin a NEW tradition.

1 Corinthians 6:12 "I have the right to do anything," you say-but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"-but I will not be mastered by anything.

With love,
